Fellowship Bible Church is a congregation of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our name says it all: We highly value fellowship – sharing life with the Lord and with each other. We highly value verse-by-verse teaching in the Bible, the Word of God. And we highly value all that it means to be a church – the bride of Christ, called to be His very own, worshiping and serving Him faithfully until we are with Him forever where He is.
The following is a summary of our doctrinal beliefs. A complete doctrinal statement is available as well.
We believe the Bible, in its original manuscripts as contained in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and the only infallible authority for faith and practice.
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God.
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and is truly God and truly man.
We believe that man was created in the image of God and that through sin fell from his original state, thereby incurring the judgment of God, as expressed through physical death and eternal separation from God in Hell.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a perfectly sinless life, then died for our sin, according to the Scriptures; that He became sin for us and suffered the wrath of God on our behalf when He was crucified. We believe that He was buried and on the third day rose again, exactly as the Bible teaches.
We believe that to sin means to transgress God’s holy law and that every person is guilty of sin; by God’s grace, a person is saved from sin when they repent and believe the good news of Christ, putting their trust in Him and Him alone. We believe God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way a person can be saved from eternal judgment in Hell because of sin.
We believe that when a person repents and believes the Gospel, he/she is saved, born again, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, forgiven of their sins, justified before God, reconciled to God, permanently sealed by the Holy Spirit, and becomes part of the body of Christ (the church); furthermore, the person’s former self dies, and the person becomes a new creation in Christ, God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works; the person becomes a slave of Jesus Christ, fully devoted to living for His glory.
We believe that through careful reading and study of the Bible, prayer, fellowship, and discipleship, every true believer in Jesus Christ will grow, manifest the lordship of Jesus Christ in their lives, produce good fruit, and endure hardship and suffering with patience and love.
We believe that every born again believer in Jesus has been baptized in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit convicts sinners of their sin, leading people to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus; He regenerates, seals, teaches, leads, empowers, and comforts believers, leading them to glorify the Lord Jesus in all things. FBC is not a “Pentecostal” or “Charismatic” church; nor are we hostile to brethren in such churches.
We believe in the pretribulational Rapture of the church, the premillennial Great Tribulation as described in the Book of Revelation, and the glorious return of Jesus Christ to earth to establish His kingdom for 1,000 years, followed by the final, great judgment when all whose names are not in the book of life are cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
